SUMMER CAMP COORDINATOR
Reports to
Lead Pastor - will be meeting weekly with supervisor to help plan and implement
Position Summary
This position seeks to employ a fun, energetic, outgoing and dedicated person that is 15 years of age and older to not only support kids but teach them important biblical truths about Jesus. These people will be a positive and engaging role model in the lives of the children we minister to. Duties will include, but are not limited to, planning and organizing the week-long camp, recruiting volunteers, ordering supplies and being totally invested in the kids’ lives for the entire week of programming. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
The Coordinator will oversee the Summer Camp Interns and will lead daily morning meetings, which will include Biblical and Practical training, relevant to serving in our Summer Camp program.
Job Duties
Assisting with the planning, implementation, recruitment and evaluation of the kids’ camps
Being an enthusiastic and positive role model to children throughout all camp activities
Ensuring that all program activities are enjoyable and safe for all participants
To be actively involved in all aspects of the Summer Day Camp program
Document incident reports
Maintain and model appropriate personal boundaries with children
Support children with problem solving, compatibility and conflict resolution
Maintain current knowledge of drug and food allergies and sensitivities of each individual
Maintain current knowledge and practice of all relevant plans, policies and procedures as established by Pinewoods Chapel
Ability to work in changing weather conditions
Requirements
Successful completion of Vulnerable Sector Screening Police Check and other screening as required
Work well in a busy team environment, with excellent organisation and communication skills
Demonstrated skill when dealing with positive behaviour management of children
Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
High level of critical and logical thinking with working with children and a team
Salary
$16/hour / 35 hours per week / July 4 - Aug 26, 2022
Pay Schedule: 15th & 30th of each month
